From the court to the field to the track, movement shaped every part of my childhood. I played every sport I could, with early morning practices, games that stretched past dark, and weekends devoted to tournaments. What I didn’t see then was the quiet toll it was taking on my hair. Every day meant redoing my ponytail again and again, snapping elastics halfway through practice, and pulling out strands without even thinking about it. Over time, my hair grew dry, brittle, and constantly breaking — and I assumed that was just the price of being a female
